Counselor's Corner
My name is Ms. Cassandra Vaughn and I am your child(rens) School Counselor at Jenifer Elementary School. I was born and raised in Waldorf, Maryland, where I graduated from Thomas Stone High School in 2012. I went on to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree at Guilford College in 2016, which is in Greensboro, North Carolina. I played college soccer there as well with my sister Emily! I found my passion for School Counseling while being a Teacher Assistant in CCPS, and I decided to enroll and obtained my Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Liberty University in December of 2019. This is my third official year as a Jenifer Elementary STAR School Counselor, and I LOVE working with all their students. Mrs. Zalasar is a nationally certified school psychologist who has been working at Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer Elementary School for three years. She completed her school psychology graduate training at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City and her undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Additionally, Evelyn completed her bilingual school psychology endorsement/ course work at Touro College in New York City and completed a behavior analysis certificate training program at Northern Illinois University. In her 16 years as a school psychologist, Evelyn has worked in public schools in Maryland, Illinois and New York and has worked with preschool, elementary aged and high school students. She enjoys working in culturally diverse settings where she is able to assist students to succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally, and works collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to provide a supportive learning environment for all students.
