Counselor's Corner
SCHOOL PYSCHOLOGIST
Mrs. Zalasar is a nationally certified school psychologist who has been working at Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer Elementary School for three years. She completed her school psychology graduate training at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City and her undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Additionally, Evelyn completed her bilingual school psychology endorsement/ course work at Touro College in New York City and completed a behavior analysis certificate training program at Northern Illinois University. In her 16 years as a school psychologist, Evelyn has worked in public schools in Maryland, Illinois and New York and has worked with preschool, elementary aged and high school students. She enjoys working in culturally diverse settings where she is able to assist students to succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally, and works collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to provide a supportive learning environment for all students.

SCHOOL COUNSELOR
I'm Mr. Gonzalez, the new school counselor at Jenifer Elementary School. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I graduated from Ana G. Mendez University, where I completed my Bachelor's degree in Social Work and then my Master's degree in School Counseling. I worked in all grade levels as a school social worker in Puerto Rico. I moved to Maryland almost ten years ago. This is my third year as a school counselor, but my first at the elementary level. I come from a high school setting in PGCPS. I'm excited to be your child's school counselor and look forward to working with you and your kid; please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
